The journal explores social and behavioral change as they affect health status and quality of life. It also examines the processes of planning, implementing, managing, and assessing health education and social-behavioral interventions. It provides empirical research, case studies, program evaluations, literature reviews, and discussions of theories of health behavior and health status, as well as strategies to improve social and behavioral health. The journal occasionally complements its broad coverage with supplements on a particular topic. Each issue of Health Education & Behavior covers a wealth of information addressing important topics such as: HIV/AIDS, cardiovascular risk reduction, drug abuse, violence, the environment, theoretical and practical ways to implement change in health and social behavior, stress, etc.
